Dedication to the Templars of Old

Coming of Them

In depth of forest beings awoke
Long had dreamed abiding there
Journeys arduous indeed
Always leading to this place
Here where others of their ilk did play
Some grown old covered in loam
Some still beauteous to behold
Covered by the green of curling leaves

Soft across stone faces made its way
Twisting turning over sightless eyes
Once had looked upon the faces
Of those they loved and scorned

Rememberances

It was a time of warriors bold
Templars across lands they strode
A brotherhood of mighty men
Dedicated to chivalry

Upon their breasts a cross of red
Tunics of purest white
Their swords of silver bright
Metal casing on their heads

Over mountains land and sea
On chargers bold they rode
Heads held high
Shining eyes

Stories to be told

Man of Difference

Into a land of lake and waterfall
There did they come upon
A man set in a tree
Upon his brow a crown of red
Twigs for ears
Long greened beard
Clothes of leaves around him dwelt

But knowledgable was he beyond all else

Words of wisdom he bestowed
Upon the gallant Templar host
Go forth
Do good
Uphold the qualities you have learned
Faith charity comradeship
End of the Templars
The tree man knew so very well
How end would come to those brave souls
When after riches popes and kings
Hungered mightily
Burned them at the stake in 1314

Their aged leader bold Jacques du Molay
Words he said as on the stake he lay

"Dieu sait qui a tort et a péché. Il va bientot arriver malheur à ceux qui nous ont condamnés à mort"

Not soon after Pope Clement died and King Philip died in a hunting accident before the end of the year

Another Tale being Told

Another tale to be told
In my own inimitable way
History brings so much forth
People places popes and kings
Things with which to play
Again again

Take a picture run with it
Up hill down dale
Cover with your running feet
Watch water strike
On mountain peak
Clouds in formation come and go

As do our lives

and so it is
