Where to eat in London can always be difficult especially if you have been brainwashed by media that British food is terrible. But that is a myth and if you read this you will understand more and perhaps gain a little wisdom which you might need....

Destroying Myths

London has become a mecca for great restaurants...contrary to the myth that has grown up probably due to ignorance and jealousy especially by the French and also by many Americans who mostly have no idea about food...after all they are the ones who created fast food, McDonalds home to chemicalized obese producing stuff and others I do not want to mention.

A few years ago I was invited to lunch with a group of writers in Los Angeles. It was given to honour the Minister of Culture from the UK. After the luncheon he asked each of us to speak a few words and when it came to my turn I told him that my mission was to dispel the myth that had grown up in the USA about British food and since that time I have been doing that.

And So It Goes

Nowadays many of the British chefs are invited all over the world to cook and I for one also find this disturbing as their egos become inflated and they start producing cuisine that is over the top! Unfortunately because of the demand by the public to have exotic dishes many chefs bring in foods that are not seasonal and this is also is to their detriment.
However, we still have hidden away restaurants in London and many towns across the UK where you can find great food being served. Using local products mostly organic and also only seasonal vegetables and fruits, they take pride in the quality of what they serve. I even spoke to one chef who threw away all the micro wave machines in her kitchen because she knew how poisonous micro waved food could be...radio waves with wavelengths ranging from as long as one meter to as short as one millimeter, or equivalently with frequencies that change the food and can harm.

Pleasures of Angelus

So let me tell you about Angelus a fabulous eating house near the Royal Park Hotel just off Westbourne Terrace.Once it was an old pub frequented by such illuminati as Winston Churchill and other political figures. The interior has an elegant Art-Nouveau feel incorporated into the original early 19h century architecture. It is also located in one of London's few remaining working mews next door to the Hyde Park Stables Angelus is the perfect place to enjoy an atmospheric lunch or dinner or just to sit and enjoy a snack after wandering around the Park only a few minutes away. Situate it is far from the eyes of those who might turn up in shorts and worn back to front peaked caps, this brasserie is a perfect hideaway for those who enjoy good food, good wine and a wonderful atmosphere.

Dancing the Light Fantastic

Angelus is known for its warmth and cuisine par excellence produced by award winning Head Chef Martin Nisbet together with founder Thierry Tomasin a former Chairman Sommelier of Britain. As Thierry told me his contemporary approach to French classics and unbeatable wine cellar make it a mecca for those who love both of these aspects.

From delectable breakfasts, mid morning snacks to lunch or dinner this is a great way to dance the light fantastic when it comes to escaping the outside world and titillating your tastebuds.

My Dinner Experience

The evening I went a very special dish was being prepared..it was roast goose in a pastry shell with wild mushrooms atop Savoy cabbage. I do not think I have ever tasted anything so delicious. Enough for two for sure but I ate the whole bloody dish because I knew I would never have anything like that again. I also ordered a half bottle of incredible Burgundy that was perfectly paired with the goose. Dream I still do of that meal!!!

Expensive yes..over $150 for just me but surely I am worth it and the dinner was sublime.

When next in London treat yourself and dine at Angelus but dont wear cutoffs or peaked caps, you will NOT be allowed in!!!!

The Royal Park Hotel in London...

The Royal Park Hotel in London...a boutique hotel par excellence

Being a traveller it is important to find hotels where one can enjoy all the comforts whilst away from home. I found the Royal Park quite by chance and will return to stay there again and again....hope you do too...

Offerings of the Royal Park Hotel

One of the most enjoyable stays I have experienced in London was at the Royal Park Hotel situate at 3 - 5 Westbourne Terrace. Many years past I had owned a mews flat on the Terrace and was excited to return to this area which has so muchhistorical relevance at least for me.

Luxury Boutique Hotel

The hotel combines three absolutely marvelous Regency townhouses of grey stone that trot merrily side by side down the Terrace. Once private homes in the early 1900’s now they are joined by passageways still retaining the charm of that elegant era. This luxury boutique hotel houses 48 bedrooms each one en suite with lots of detail, limestone bathrooms, four poster beds with silk coverings, artwork, antiques and most important comfort.

The Greeting

The front doors open to a welcoming reception area where you are greeted by an array of smiling faces for the staff at the Royal Park are well versed in the art of welcome and knowledgeable about the area so important for visitors from out of town. Upon arrival welcome drinks are offered and between 7 and 8 pm champagne and canapés are served.

The doorman especially knows his way around and was of great assistance during my stay. I had not realized Paddington Station was so close just as Hyde Park, Regent Park and that great shopping area Oxford Street are within walking distance.

Enjoy

The General Manager, Laurent Boutonne, took me on a tour of the hotel; the Blue Room with its cheery fireplace is filled with sofas and comfortable chairs and is open 24 hours for hotel guests only. It is a great place to relax in the evening with candles lit, jazz and blues playing and sipping a glass of wine.

The Green Room where a breakfast buffet heralds the start to a new day also serving as a private dining room, board room and private meetings room. Personalized service is offered and greatly appreciated by many of the business people who frequent the Royal Park.

The Garden

Although it was late Autumn I enjoyed walking around the courtyard behind the hotel with its wood plank benches and tables and where in the summer months events are held. The foliage was turning orange and red but with my vivid imagination I could imagine the green trees and bushes coming alive again as spring returned just as the lounge fire crackled and burned sending out its warmth during the winter months. All this quite makes the Royal Park a hotel for all seasons and reasons.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoPL7BExSQUIt is easily reachable from Heathrow Airport by train to Paddington Station just 5 minutes away and all around are internationally acclaimed restaurants and bars.

Be sure to visit, you will be well pleased!

Loving Is The Only Way

Loving Is The Only Way

The Mayan Calendar came to an end but I think it is the end of a 25,000 year period and newness is being brought forward in so many areas of our lives...new energies for us to deal with...enjoy them for that is how you will lift....

Make It Last

At this time of year
Filled we are with good cheer
Let us make this last

At this time in time
New things do approach

Energy shifts from above
Planetary influences

At this time for you
For me
For all

A new directive does come forth
Loving is the only way
Cosmic Energies
On December 21 a shift did occur
Sun on its onward path conjunct
The Milky Way at Galactic Center

Thus formed a Cosmic Cross a Yod
The Tree of Life

A portal opened then
Allowing cosmic energies to flow
The earth throughout

A Purification then began
People and all the inhabitants
Thereon

A higher vibration then to raise
A new World Age

Upheaval and Change

Two mighty planets
Pluto and Uranus
 they squared
Upheaval and change
These do denote

First tearing things down
Then like the phoenix newness arises
From the ashes of destruction
Change is on its way

Going With The Flow

Freedom then will be the key
Initiating all that is new
Cultural upheaval will take place
Transformation inside and out
Transform your life

Need you not fear at what will be
That can only cause you pain
Go with the flow
Accepting all as it come forth
Being not caught in the undertow

Negative forces in strength try they will
To keep you in the prison of your mind
Your body
Your emotions
Your imagination too

Where all those scary pictures come through

Listen To Your Heart

Let not your fears envelop you
Resist not what is to be

Spiritual unfoldment so sublime
Realizing that you are Divine

Running old tapes will no longer work
Change them

Negative thoughts
Just observe them

Listen to your heart
It speaks of loving
Of truth

and so it is

Perhaps you too have had horrendous relationships with the spouse of your brother or sister and wondered why. This may help you understand...if not so what!!!! it all comes out in the end..

Fair Lady

Into his life
There came a lady
Very fair was she

This man with whom
Shared I so many lifetimes

Brother lover family friend

Now in this one
As loving sister so I be

Much karma cleared
Free we be of each other

Loving together pure spirituality

Sisterly Loving

The women he had been with
Treating him with indignity

Using him a money maker
Supporting them did he

Me too they looked on with hatred
Sisterly loving it was for me
But they made it a different thing

Another of their mean indulgences

Aries Rage

Karmic flows they were however
Sons he had with them
All this so meant to be
Lessons from eternity

He learned them well
Perhaps not so I
My Aries rage did sometimes show
Vindictive often I

Now I forgive myself
For these and other things
Loving accepting all no matter what
Do I

These the lessons
In many different ways have we

Agreeing with the Lords of Karma
Long before we incarnate here
Or there
Wherever

Spiritual Warrior

This lady fair now with him
So beautiful to see

A life filled with joy for them
Abundance and prosperity
Loving caring and sharing all

She so shiny bright with beauty
Inside and out

He a great Spiritual Warrior
Wherever he goes the land
Is blessed

And over all his mantle of
Great loving spreads

Fortunate am I to know
These two

To be a member of their family
Sharing joy and laughter

Part of a great spiritual family
That spreads its loving over all

and so it is
