Time..Where Is It Now...Where Did It Go....

Strange Things

It seems so very long ago you stood by me
Waiting for the tide
Washing up flotsam and jetsam
Down drains washed out to sea
Strange things bobbed up down
Seaweed entwined
Shells caught in a flux
Sometimes a crab or shellfish
Of sorts
Mixed with a shell perfectly formed
Blushed pink on white

Meteors

We stood here side by side
Fingers intertwined
Once in a while our lips would meet
Or so it seemed

Perhaps a figment of my dreams

Who really knows

Meteors across dark sky did shoot
Red tails streaming out behind
Foretelling mysteries that yet would be
Soon to come about

Time

Time crunches down so fast
Yesterday has become today
Even that has disappeared
Who knows where all has gone
The eternal now it seems

I do not know
My mind reels far beyond
What is what could be
Left I am with a configuration
Of space seemingly a jumble of words
A fantasy perhaps

Knowing

I sit here as I have so many times
Pondering on the way it is
Knowing full well that thoughts
Lead me astray
Emotions up and down do go
Nothing can be trusted anyway
Except the truth that dwells inside
No words to put on that
A knowing it can only be
Different for you
Than it is for me
But something so sublime
Lifting beyond earthly time
Into a heavenly place

and so it is

    "Nothing can be trusted anyway
Except the truth that dwells inside"

In fact, your final verse is some of your all-time best writing. Just brilliant! Reply to this comment
