Great Italian Masters of Paint and Pen and Philosophy

Masters

In days of old in Italy
There the masters of the pen
And paint brush too
Knew they did how to create
Works of art significant
Still today

Created from their loving hearts
Pictures of merit
Symbolic of
Who knows
Do you

And the rain on flower petals fell

High Renaissance

Faded now in many ways
Their art lives on
Inspiring all who look
Again again again
Centuries have passed since then

Michelangelo to the High Renaissance
Brought works of art supreme
Paintings sculptures poetry
His works can still be seen

Da Vinci..Man of Fame

Da Vinci a most enlightened man
At time of Lorenzo
Medici by any other name
His brain on fire with new designs
Air chariots war machinery
His paintings of the utmost fame

Grew up in streets of Florence
Street wise he then became
Philosophy another gift
To which he did subscribe

His teachings of a world beyond
Other realms indeed
Not known by many
Espoused by him in many ways
Hidden meanings in his work
For all to see

Those with eyes that recognize the messages within

Sandro Botticelli

Botticelli too
A painter he of beautiful women
Those I love to see
Rounded hips and bosoms sweet
Rosy lips long curling hair
Such a joy to view

Light and shadow they did play
Across the figures that he drew
Highlighting so beautifully
In every way

This we still can see today

Ending

So now I end this page of spice
Delicious in entirety
Masters of old who still this day
Bring joy and wonderment
To all who see
Their works of art

and so it be...
