Our place of birth will always all
upon us to return and renew our spirit..at least those who listen and
love and find time to wander down the highways and biways of our youth.

Oh Dear Me
The greensward of england has come out to sayWe love you we love you and want you to stay
Why oh why have you wandered away
so very far away
Concrete jungles now are your home
Streets filled with homeless dirt and debris
All that a city throws up in your face
oh such a shame
Country Life
Down lanes filled with blossomAncient gnarled trees
Blackberry bushes with bramble like thorns
Their fruit so delicious to pick
Your fingers to stain
Yellow rape in the fields
Topped over the wheat
Kernels so golden
To pick and to eat
all this you must miss
Journeys from here to there
In fields lambs gambol and happily playWhilst doe eyes cows at them do stare
Enjoy your games they seem to say
For soon you too will be grist for the mill
I sit on the train watching scenery fly by
Banks of greenery all colours it seems
Variegated in so many shades
NOT 50 of Grey
Not my cup of tea!
Its So Nice to be Besides the Seaside
And down by the seaside where mermaids do frolickIs white sand and seashells all in disarray
Yet forming a picture perfect to see
For those who take time to walk and to look
Devon and Cornwall Warwickshire too
Coventry my birthplace and Leamington Spa
Such special places they are
Places of history where did unwind
Legends of battles and stories galore
Of lords and ladies and knights oh so bold
Historical value all to be told
but not in concrete jungles....
Coming and Goings of History
Lady Godiva and norty Peeping TomFairye Queene Elizabeth Lord Leicester her swaine
Did trip around Kenilworth where castle remains
But all in vain for she would not marry him
And share her throne
Treasures of the Isles
Along waterways canal barges do plyCity to city from Redditch to Rhy
Each one coloured gaily
Red orange green blue
A way to view England such a delight
The mountains of Wales gaze down on green plains
Where forests and townships their auras do blaze
Scotland's highlands and lowlands a pleasure to view
Everywhere cross the Isles so much to do
come home come home they still call to me
