the void

It seems like only yesterday
You held me in your arms
Telling me softly of your love
Knowing I loved you so

Now you have gone so far away
Leaving me all alone
Days drag by endless are they
Nights stretch into a void

passageways unlit

Down passageways unlit they trudged
Not knowing where they went
Urged on by phantoms hardly seen
Dark forces circumvent

Time had no meaning anymore
Intent had lost its way
Restlessness their hearts did fill
Minds numb no feelings left at all

Deadness all around it was
There seemed no other way
Too many whippings had they born
Upon their bodies
Suffering to their souls

And then a spark of Light did come
Gathering multitudes of rays
Each of a colour incandescent
Dancing forth so many ways

Knowing

Great peals of sound
Their ears did fill
Music of angels so sublime
Bringing to them the knowing that
Salvation was at hand

No more the darkness
No more the void
No more the lacking of intent
With eyes upturned they made their way
Into the Light that welcomed them
