The Seasons and What They Entail...taking care of Nature's Bounty

cnwriter..carolinaStarred PageBy cnwriter..carolinaEach season brings forth its blessings, ones that we can enjoy no matter what. Always though we need to be aware of how we take care of God's gift sto us of land and nature and sky...never poisoning them, always nurturing these treasures gifted to us.

Summer Ends

When summer droops its weary head
Sun filled days a memory now
Haze on the sunset fills your eyes
The scent of flowers everywhere

The fields their crops have long been gone
Stubble stands knee high
Mice do have a field day
Hidden by the yellow rape

Quivering whiskers bright lit eyes
Munch munch their drooling jaws
Bellies swollen
Tails held high

Autumn

Autumn days move slowly now
Leaves fall to the ground
Mosaic patterns then are formed
Red yellow gold and brown
The sky seems filled with clouds
Drift by they do like angels wings
Tipped with scarlet pink and blue
Ever changing formations make they do

Down below trees grow tall
Their branches reaching high
Their ancient trunks enormous girth
Watching humans unaware they be

Winter

White snow covers o'er the ground
Stillness fills the air

Sparkling icicles hang everywhere
Peace is most profound

Wolves circle round the trees
Noses flashing here and there

No food is there for them
To kill must be the only way

Ever closer to the barns they draw
Where sheep and cows do stay

Huddling close for warmth together
Not knowing of advancing prey

Spring

New hopes arise as spring bursts forth
Idyllic time of May
Green buds open wide
Budding blossoms deep inside

Around the Maypole gather they
Who in the woods and forests play
Nymphs, fairies, elves
Beings from another world

Different to humans but no way less
At least not have they made a mess
Like mankind does

Nor burnt the forests
Uprooted trees
Dammed up waterways

All efforts made to glean more
Filthy lucre for themselves

Forever

If you would walk
Upon God's earth

Be sure to take with you
A loving nature
Kindness of heart
Integrity of being too

In these ways
A pleasure will you be
To all who look on you and see
The Truth of Who You Are

and so it is
