Once Upon A Time.....

Stray with me into a land of make believe where only happiness and caring dwell yet it really is all around us if we will look and see.   In the meantime enjoy this quite sweet piece...one of the loving that always goes on....

Once

Once upon a time
In a long forgotten land
Dwelled a lady and her mate
So happy were they

Sang and danced the day away
Made love every night
Little babies then were born
A caring family growing up

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYSZ-NYSHQQ
Deep in a forest glade
They lived
Sheltered by branches green
Trees their guardians

Idyllic...

Idyllic surroundings all around
Masses of flowers too
Berries of every kind
On bushes grew

No darkness ever came into
This land of magic dreams
Where fairies played
Whiling the hours away

With tiny wands they touched
The children gathered there
Gold nimbus glowed round each one
Soft music filled the air

Sounds...

Cymbals and flutes
Strange soundings rare
Played everywhere
Sound current of God
So beautiful to hear

And as each note eschewed
Became a column bright
Of clear shining light
A ladder to the moon
And far beyond

Leaving mortal form behind
Now a being of purest light
Ascending into heart of God

Good over all...

Fairy tales are often told
Nursery rhymes
Legends of Greece and Rome
All stem from a similar source

Teachings of light and dark
Good and evil
Right and wrong
Ways to be
Living a life of integrity
Versus one of irresponsibility

Princess rescued by loving prince
King always finds his queen
Light overcomes darkness
Good conquers all

so will it be

The English Countryside and More....

Fruits of Every Kind

Rosy apples hang from branches
Luscious plums so round and plump
Peaches soft fuzz o'er covers
Grapes drip goodness from above

Figs turning from green to purple
Blackberries in thickets grow
Red currants adorn bushes
Linked together one by one
Sour gooseberries my favourite these are
A blush of red does appear
As in age they grow
On the ground tiny strawberries poke their heads
Waiting to be picked with love

English countryside supreme

A smorgasbord of fruit indeed
Fit for a king and queen
Graciously given by Mother Nature
Helped sometimes by gardeners
Across the world

But in my English countryside supreme

Flowers there grow in profusion
Daffodils nod their lovely heads
Snowdrops so pure and white
Peep up from shining leaves

Purple lupins standing tall
Royal is their stance indeed
Foxgloves trumpet out to all
Come admire my wherewithal

So much for you to see

Robin in the Hood

And in the forests that run
Down the center of Englund
Sherwood of Robin fame
The Hood who won so much acclaim

If only he was here again!!!!

Righting so many wrongs.....

Little streams run through the trees
Over pebbles in clear water see
Dragonflies dart here and there
Voles arrive to stand and stare

Open Up Your Heart

All this and more for you to view
When visiting the English countryside
Fact and fable intermingle
In so many different ways
Fantasy will surround you
As you trip down lover's lane
Everything becomes so much sharper
When your eyes no longer covered
By the fog of other's opinions
Clarity your vision when you open up your heart
Letting all your loving shine

and so it is

Tale of a Loving Giantess and Her Adventures...perhaps a Metaphor

To the Rescue

Once upon a time
In the land of Nod
A giantess did abide
A kind and gentle one
Spent her days walking the land
Helping others she happened upon

Her face beautiful could not be called
Part of it had been destroyed
By fire
When in the forest she had been
Helping to save the burning trees

Gathering in her arms as many
As she could
Animals of every kind
Deer, hares, even a bear
Who did not know where they
Could run
Bewildered they by smoke and fear

A Heart so Pure

Her eyes with brilliance
They did shine
Her heart so pure
Made them so

Her hair was knotted
Tangled by branches of trees
That parted as she strode by
They knew her heart

Her body clothed it was
In rainment green
Boots of coloured leather
On her feet she wore

The Greensward Her Bed

Her home it was
Wherever laid she her head
Often pillowed by greensward
Where clover and fragrant lavender grew

Quiet in the night she lay
Waiting for the dawning day
When on her journey she would go
Again

Books of Lore

A smile curved her rosy lips
As she dreamed
Hoping one day she would find
Another such as she

Then together they could stride
Up mountain down dale in valleys fair
Sharing all the mysteries there
Venturing forth to do great deeds
Recorded in the books of lore
Would be

We Love You

Thunder reverberated everywhere
She woke and looked around
Amazed at how the lightning
The sky lit up in darkest night
Torrential rain poured down

The trees they formed a canopy
Protecting her from getting wet
Murmured to her such loving words
We love you dearest Giantess

One of us you be

for the blessings already are

Where Fairies Dare to Tread

Where Fairies Dare to Tread

Seasons bring their special qualities. The killing of the deer's family in the forest and the punishment of Queen Mab for this. A warning to those who kill animals.

Seasons of the Witch

I heard the buzz of busy bees
The mist came through thebudding trees
Spring was on its way

Flowers burst into colours bright
The land grew fruitful under blue skies
Summer had come

Leaves fluttered to the ground in shades of flame
The sun sank low on the horizon
Autumn had arrived
White snow covered all the land
Rivers froze and trees were bare
Winter again had come

Death in the Forest

The antlered deer raised his great head
He sensed the nearness of the man
Great limpid eyes drooped to the ground
To see what lay ahead

Learned had he to read the prints of those who came to harm
His family they had all been killed by scavengers with hearts so cruel
No-one was left but him

He prowled the forest day and night to find another of his kin
But none there were

The Queen's Proclamation

Now upon this dismal scene
host of fairies did appear
Amongst them Mab herself the Queen

She came to see the goings on

the feathered paths her domain

No-one was allowed to defame
The precious places of the greensward

This Titania herself proclaimed

Cruelty of Man

But man his greed knowing no bounds
In disregard of her words
Destroyed the trees and plants and ground

His ceaseless search for more he made
Killing the animals who dwelt therein
Both kith and kin

Mab came to him one dark and silent night
And bound him in chains of metal bright
Cut out his tongue
Put out his eyes

So never could he again
Destroy the magic of the woods

A warning let this be to all who would destroy what Mother Nature has created..
